The Traveling Floor Care Technician performs specialized floor-care and janitorial projects at retail stores throughout North and the Minneapolis–St. Paul metro area of Minnesota. Work includes maintenance of hard surfaces and carpet, such as stripping, waxing, buffing, spot cleaning, carpet extraction, and deep cleaning restrooms and grout. The technician travels between assigned stores, performs project work, and may cover for onsite staff vacancies by carrying out the location’s cleaning tasks. Reliable transportation is required; paid drive time and mileage reimbursement are available according to company policy. The role also involves training onsite cleaners and store personnel in cleaning methods, equipment use, and safety practices. The technician works with limited supervision in collaboration with Building Maintenance team members and interacts respectfully with customers, store personnel, and the public. The position supports the company’s values of Flexibility, Improvement, Reliability, Safety, and Teamwork. This role works overnight, with schedules varying by project and location. Weekend work and overtime may be required. The work is generally performed indoors in climate-controlled areas with little or no natural light, with exposure to cleaning products. Regular travel takes place in varying weather and road conditions. The position requires physical strength and stamina for janitorial work, including lifting, pushing, and pulling floor-care equipment. Continued employment is dependent on passing a criminal background check, a clean motor vehicle record check if driving, employment verification, and pre-employment and random employment drug screens.
