About The Position

This is a 13-week travel assignment for a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in Cambridge, MA, working in a hospital-based respiratory care unit. The role involves providing diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care, managing various therapies, assessing patients, maintaining equipment, and documenting care in the electronic medical record. The position requires working independently on assigned shifts and participating in holiday coverage.

Requirements

  • Active Massachusetts Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license at time of submission
  • NBRC certification: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required at submission
  • NRP certification required
  • AHA-BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
  • 1+ year of acute care respiratory therapy experience
  • EPIC EMR experience preferred; 2 recent manager/supervisor references in the specialty

Responsibilities

  • Provide diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care per physician orders, including assessment, treatment, and monitoring
  • Manage and assist with a range of therapies (nebulized medications, airway clearance techniques, aerosolized medications) and weaning from ventilator support when indicated
  • Perform and document patient assessments, monitor device performance, and adjust therapies as ordered
  • Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory care equipment; ensure infection control and equipment safety standards
  • Document care in the electronic medical record (EPIC experience preferred) and participate in patient rounds and interdisciplinary communication
  • Work independently on assigned shift and participate in holiday coverage as required
