About The Position

This is a hospital-based travel assignment for a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in Plymouth, MA. The contract duration is 13 weeks, with a start date of 08/24/2026. The role involves performing assessments, diagnostic testing, prescribed respiratory therapies, and patient care for respiratory therapy patients. The therapist will evaluate treatment effectiveness, adjust therapy as indicated, and maintain accurate department records. Responsibilities also include drawing arterial blood gases (ABGs) and interpreting results, documenting in the EMR, and communicating patient status to the care team. The position may require working in NICU/PICU settings, participating in triage activities, and coordinating transfers. Maintaining patient safety, adhering to licensing and infection control standards, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams are crucial.

Requirements

  • Current Massachusetts Respiratory Therapist license; RRT credential active
  • NBRC verification; BLS required; NRP certification required
  • NICU/PICU experience required
  • Must be able to draw arterial blood gases (ABGs)
  • Residency and work eligibility: MUST reside more than 50 miles from the assignment facility; NO local travelers accepted (cannot reside within 50 miles)
  • Prior travel or permanent/staff experience with Beth Israel Lahey Health within the last six months is not eligible for consideration

Nice To Haves

  • AHA ACLS preferred
  • EMR experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform assessment, diagnostic testing, prescribed respiratory therapies, and patient care for respiratory therapy patients
  • Evaluate treatment effectiveness; adjust therapy as indicated; maintain accurate department records
  • Draw arterial blood gases (ABGs) and interpret results to guide care
  • Document in the EMR and communicate patient status to the care team
  • Work in NICU/PICU settings as required; participate in triage activities and coordinate transfers to the main hospital in Boston when triage directs movement
  • Maintain patient safety, adhere to Licensing, credentialing, and infection control standards; collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
