About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) specializing in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Cumming, GA. The assignment is for 13 weeks, with a start date of 08/30/2026. The role involves providing direct respiratory care to neonates, collaborating with the NICU team, and ensuring compliance with hospital policies and infection control practices. The position is hospital-based and temporary.

Requirements

Active Georgia Respiratory Therapist license (RRT) and NBRC-RRT credential
NRP certification and neonatal delivery experience
AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a NICU/neonatal respiratory care setting
Ability to work in a NICU environment and meet travel assignment requirements (background check and credentialing as needed)

Responsibilities

Deliver neonatal respiratory care in the NICU, including ventilator management and weaning, airway clearance, and oxygen therapy per physician orders.
Monitor patient status, interpret devices and data, adjust therapies, and document responses and progress in the medical record.
Perform bedside procedures such as suctioning, humidification, aerosol therapy, chest physiotherapy, and other NICU-specific respiratory care as indicated.
Collaborate with the NICU team (nurses, physicians, and therapists) to implement care plans and respond to evolving patient needs.
Assist with emergency responses and code events as part of the multidisciplinary team; maintain readiness for rapid escalation if patient status changes.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control practices, and credentialing requirements; participate in ongoing quality and safety initiatives.
