About The Position

FirstChoice is Trinity Health’s mobile staffing solution, placing registered nurses in short- and long-term assignments throughout the health system. Nurses may float throughout a hospital, multiple hospital locations, or regions. The program offers nationwide and regional opportunities and a choice of local or national travel. This assignment is at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, Iowa, for 13 weeks, starting ASAP. The schedule is five 8-hour shifts on days, with a gross weekly rate of $3,320.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
Valid RN licensure authorized in the applicable state(s) of practice or employment.
At least 18 months of recent clinical experience for Med Surg, Tele, and PCU specialties.
At least two years of recent clinical experience for other specialties, including Critical Care, Surgical Services, Maternal Services, Emergency Department, and Behavioral Health.
Maintain credentials required for the specialty area, such as ACLS or TNCC.
BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications must be obtained through the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

Float throughout the hospital and/or multiple hospital locations or regions as qualified and willing.
Apply the standard elements of professional practice: assessment, outcomes identification and solutions, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Practice independently and appropriately within the nurse’s license, scope of knowledge, and experience.
Maintain accountability for delegation, choices, decisions, and outcomes.
Collaborate with key stakeholders and contribute to quality improvement practices and outcomes.
Demonstrate agility and willingness to take on new and additional responsibilities.
Embrace new ideas and cultural differences while managing competing priorities.
