About The Position

FirstChoice is Trinity Health’s mobile staffing solution, providing registered nurses for short- and long-term assignments throughout the health system. This role is for an ICU travel nurse at MercyOne Mason City, with nationwide and regional opportunities available. Nurses may travel locally or nationally and experience a variety of practice settings. The assignment is 13 weeks, with a flexible start date and a night schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week. The gross weekly rate is $2,664.

The nurse is expected to float throughout the hospital and/or across multiple hospital locations or regions. The role requires professional nursing practice, independent and appropriate action within the nurse’s license and scope of knowledge and experience, accountability for delegation and clinical decisions, collaboration on quality improvement, and adaptability when taking on responsibilities and managing competing priorities.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Hold valid RN licensure authorized in the applicable state(s) of practice or employment.
• Have at least two years of recent clinical experience for Critical Care and the other listed specialties requiring two years.
• Maintain credentials required for the specialty area, such as ACLS or TNCC.
• Obtain BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Float throughout the hospital and/or across multiple hospital locations or regions.
• Apply professional practice standards, including assessment, outcomes identification and solutions, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Act independently and appropriately within licensure, scope of knowledge, and experience in the practice area.
• Retain accountability for delegation, choices, decisions, and outcomes.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders and contribute to quality improvement practices and outcomes.
• Adapt to new and additional responsibilities, embrace new ideas and cultural differences, and manage competing priorities.
