About The Position

The Travel Registered Nurse (RN) works in the Main Operating Room as part of FirstChoice, Trinity Health’s mobile staffing solution. FirstChoice nurses fill short- and long-term assignments across the health system, in local regions or nationally, and may be assigned to a variety of practice settings. This assignment is at Loyola University Medical Center, is listed for 13 weeks, and has a 5x8 day-shift schedule. The RN is expected to float throughout the hospital and/or across multiple hospital locations or regions. FirstChoice clinical colleagues are PRN status.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Hold valid RN licensure authorized in the applicable state or states of practice or employment.
Have at least two years of recent clinical experience; the posting specifies this for all specialties, including Critical Care, Surgical Services, Maternal Services, Emergency Department, and Behavioral Health.
Obtain and maintain credentials required for the specialty area, such as ACLS, TNCC, or NRP.
Obtain BLS, ACLS, and PALS through the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

Float throughout the hospital and/or multiple hospital locations or regions.
Apply the standard elements of professional nursing practice: assessment, outcomes identification and solutions, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Practice independently and appropriately within licensure, scope of knowledge, and experience.
Retain accountability for delegation, choices, decisions, and outcomes.
Collaborate with key stakeholders and contribute to quality and improvement practices and outcomes.
