About The Position

FirstChoice is Trinity Health’s mobile staffing solution. Travel Registered Nurses fill short- and long-term assignments throughout the health system, including regional and nationwide opportunities. Nurses may work across hospital units, locations, or regions and experience a variety of practice settings. This assignment is for Med Surg Tele at MercyOne Elkader Medical Center in Iowa, for 13 weeks, with a flexible start date and a 3x12-hour night schedule. The stated gross weekly rate is $2,556.

The RN applies the standard elements of professional practice, including assessment, outcomes identification and solutions, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The nurse practices independently within their license, knowledge, and experience, remains accountable for delegation and decisions, collaborates with stakeholders to improve quality and outcomes, and adapts to new responsibilities, ideas, cultural differences, and competing priorities.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Valid RN licensure authorized in the applicable state(s) of practice or employment.
• At least 18 months of recent clinical experience for Med Surg, Tele, and PCU.
• Maintain the credentials required for the specialty area (for example, ACLS or TNCC).
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS must be obtained through the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Float throughout the hospital and/or across multiple hospital locations or regions as qualified and willing.
• Apply the standard elements of professional practice: assess, identify outcomes and solutions, plan, implement, and evaluate.
• Practice independently and appropriately within the limits of licensure, knowledge, and experience.
• Remain accountable for delegation, choices, decisions, and outcomes.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders and contribute to quality improvement practices and outcomes.
• Adapt to new and additional responsibilities, new ideas, cultural differences, and competing priorities.
