About The Position

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital's 10K Stepdown Unit is seeking a Travel Registered Nurse for a 14-week assignment. This is a full-time temporary position on the day shift. The unit is a brand new 24-bed Medicine unit equipped with modern technology, including new computers in every room, charting stations with patient visualization, and real-time documentation integrated with EPIC. The patient population is diverse, including cardiac, renal failure, vascular, sepsis, pneumonia, sickle cell, OR-prep, and various wound care cases.

Requirements

• Associates, Bachelors, or Masters degree in Nursing, or diploma in the Nursing Field.
• Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• ACLS certification.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification.
• Two or more years of current acute care hospital RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in a Stepdown Intermediate Care Unit.
• Manage patients with cardiac, renal failure, vascular, sepsis, pneumonia, sickle cell, OR-prep, and diverse wound care needs.
• Utilize new technology and charting systems, including EPIC and real-time documentation.
• Collaborate with the nursing team in a new, modern unit environment.
