About The Position

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring for a Travel Registered Nurse (RN) to work in their Stepdown Intermediate Care Unit (10K). This is a temporary, full-time, 14-week assignment on the night shift. The unit is a beautiful, brand new 24-bed Medicine unit equipped with new computers, charting stations, and real-time documentation blood pressure machines that integrate with EPIC. The patient population includes cardiac, cardiac prep, renal failure, vascular, sepsis, pneumonia, sickle cell, OR-prep, and diverse wound care.

Requirements

• Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or diploma in the Nursing Field required.
• Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• ACLS certification.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification.
• Two or more years of current acute care hospital RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in a Stepdown Intermediate Care Unit.
• Manage patients with cardiac, renal failure, vascular, sepsis, pneumonia, sickle cell, OR-prep, and diverse wound care needs.
• Utilize new computer systems and real-time documentation technology.
