Requirements

• Active RN license in Alaska (or eligibility to obtain)
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS preferred
• LTC experience required
• Ability to work in a hospital setting with 36 hours per week and a 13-week assignment
• Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills
• Adequate to work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to state nurse practice acts and facility policies

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care to adult and older adult patients with LTC needs in a hospital setting, following physician orders and care plans.
• Conduct patient assessments, monitor vital signs, interpret clinical data, and recognize changes requiring escalation.
• Administer medications and treatments, manage IV therapy, wound care, and other standard nursing interventions.
• Develop and update individualized care plans, document care activities accurately, and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide patient and family education, discharge planning support, and assistance with activities of daily living as appropriate.
• Supervise and coordinate care with licensed and unlicensed staff, ensuring safety, compliance, and adherence to policies.
