About The Position

This is a travel temporary assignment for a Registered Nurse Supervisor in a long-term care setting located in Waterloo, New York. The assignment starts on 09/29/2026 and lasts for 22 weeks. The role involves evening shifts (2x8) on a part-time basis, including weekends and holidays. The position is within a skilled nursing facility focused on long-term resident care and operates under the supervision and coordination of the Director of Nursing–LTC.

Requirements

  • Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse licensure (active)
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in long-term care with supervisor/clinical lead responsibilities across multiple units (not limited to a single unit)
  • BLS certification (via AHA or RQI system) through clinical orientation
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred
  • CPI obtained within 90 days of hire
  • Ability to work in a long-term care setting; strong interpersonal, communication, and computer skills; familiarity with NYSDOH requirements

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the Director of Nursing–LTC, supervise nursing units and provide clinical leadership to staff across multiple units.
  • Promote and ensure quality resident care through teaching, supervision, and adherence to established policies and procedures.
  • Communicate with the Director of Nursing and/or Nurse Manager about unit issues, collaborating to resolve problems; provide on-call input for critical items after hours.
  • Make sound administrative decisions in the absence of the Director of Nursing and Administrator within approved scope, including during off-shift periods and weekends.
  • Collaborate with medical staff, department managers, and ancillary services to coordinate care and meet regulatory requirements, including NYSDOH guidelines.
  • Demonstrate effective leadership, professional communication (written and oral), time management, and the ability to handle stressful situations while maintaining a team-oriented environment.
