About The Position

Registered Nurse – First Assist (RNFA) with Da Vinci robotic experience needed for a hospital-based travel assignment in Rochester, NY. This is a 17-week assignment with 12-hour shifts, Monday–Friday day shifts with on-call responsibilities as needed. The role requires CNOR certification and completion of an RNFA program, with robotic Da Vinci experience preferred. The weekly pay range is $3,094–$3,158 per week.

Requirements

NY Registered Nurse license (active) required
CNOR certification required
Completion of an accredited RN First Assistant program
Da Vinci robotic experience required
BLS certification required
Minimum of two years OR experience
Ability to scrub and circulate
Able to work effectively in a perioperative team environment
Eligible to work in a hospital operating room setting and meet unit-specific on-call requirements

Nice To Haves

Experience with robotic urology, gynecology, colorectal, surgical oncology, thoracic, or general surgery preferred
ACLS preferred
Trauma center OR experience preferred

Responsibilities

Serve as the RN First Assistant in the operating room, collaborating with the surgeon to perform robotic Da Vinci procedures and ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
Provide RNFA duties in collaboration with the surgical team; scrub and circulate as needed, with proficiency in perioperative nursing practice.
Support a range of robotic procedures (urology, gynecology, colorectal, surgical oncology, thoracic, and general surgery) as required by the unit.
Maintain sterile technique, instrument counts, and appropriate intraoperative communication; document perioperative care and patient status accurately.
Work within CNOR standards and RNFA scope, transitioning between RNFA duties and traditional OR RN roles as assigned.
Adhere to unit-specific on-call expectations (up to 11 pm) and the Monday–Friday daytime schedule; no weekend or holiday coverage unless unit needs dictate.
