About The Position

This is a travel, temporary assignment for a Registered Nurse - First Assist (RNFA) in Pittsfield, MA. The role supports the operating room in an acute care hospital setting and may require floating to the main OR. On-call coverage is also a requirement. The assignment is measured in weeks, with a start date of 08/31/2026. Weekly pay is estimated between $3,356–$3,467.

Requirements

MA state RN license in hand; conditional licenses accepted
Minimum 3 years RNFA experience
Certifications: CNOR, ACLS, BLS required
Ability to work in an acute hospital OR setting and float to the main OR as needed
COVID-19 vaccination with current booster (no exemptions)

Responsibilities

Provide RN First Assistant support during surgical procedures under the surgeon’s direction, including exposure, hemostasis, tissue handling, and suturing as appropriate.
Maintain sterile technique, assist with draping, positioning, instrument handling, and wound management during operations.
Assist with patient positioning, setup of instrumentation, and intraoperative documentation; ensure timely availability of supplies and equipment.
Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the perioperative team to promote patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes.
Monitor intraoperative events, adapt to changes in procedure, and uphold infection control and safety standards throughout cases.
Accept assignments that may include float to the main OR within the facility and participate in on-call coverage as required.
