About The Position

This travel assignment in an ED setting begins 09/08/2026 for 27 weeks, with a weekly pay range of $1,549–$1,621. No guaranteed hours. Shift: Flex. The role supports acute care in a hospital emergency department, requiring rapid assessment, treatment, and collaboration with the care team to manage diverse patient needs.

Requirements

  • Active New York State Registered Nurse license
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications; Stroke Certification (AHA or RQI) required
  • Minimum 2 years of ED acute hospital nursing experience
  • NIHSS training or certification
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced ED environment; flexible scheduling as required
  • Must be able to work in the ED setting and meet travel assignment requirements

Responsibilities

  • Perform triage, establish initial priorities, and triage using established criteria; maintain clear, respectful communication with patients and families.
  • Conduct primary and secondary assessments across all age groups; recognize life-threatening changes and initiate appropriate interventions.
  • Deliver and monitor ED interventions (invasive and noninvasive) and administer medications per protocol; manage pain and safety.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, coordinate tests and referrals, and provide discharge instructions and follow-up planning.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, delegate tasks appropriately, and uphold infection prevention and safety standards.
  • Educate patients and families, document care accurately, and maintain patient understanding through updates and education boards.
