About The Position

This is a unit-based leadership role supporting the delivery of cost-effective, high-quality patient care on an acute care unit. The Registered Nurse - Charge Acute Care will provide unit-based leadership in collaboration with the Nurse Manager, Director, Physicians, and staff. They will supervise and direct nursing and ancillary personnel to ensure safe, evidence-based, patient-centered care. The role involves initiating and coordinating conferences with health team members, patients, and families to develop and revise care plans, and directing and monitoring personnel performance in patient care activities. The Charge Nurse will also make rounds to assess patient needs, introduce themselves to patients and families, and update care plans as needed, while fostering an environment of patient- and family-centered care and investigating and resolving patient care or operational issues.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required
Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice (California required)
BLS required
ACLS (AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS) required
PALS (AHA-PALS or ARC-PALS) required
Department-specific BLS certification as applicable
At least two years of recent nursing experience
Supervisory experience required
Ability to lead unit-based operations, collaborate with nursing leadership, physicians, and staff
Strong clinical assessment and care coordination on an acute care unit
Ability to work the listed shift and meet on-site unit responsibilities

Nice To Haves

Master’s Degree preferred
five years’ technical experience preferred

Responsibilities
