About The Position

This is a travel Registered Nurse - Charge Acute Care position located in San Luis Obispo, California. The assignment is for a 13-week duration with guaranteed 40 hours per week. The role is situated in a Short Term Acute Care Hospital, and experience in a trauma center environment is preferred. This is a temporary placement facilitated by Healthforce Healthcare LLC.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice (California) required
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS required
• Bachelor’s Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience required
• At least two years of recent field experience
• Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills required
• Ability to work in a trauma center environment
• Current BLS certification required

Nice To Haves

• Master’s Degree preferred
• Two-plus years in charge/lead roles preferred
• Trauma center experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide unit-based leadership, coordinating care with the Nurse Manager, Director, physicians, and frontline staff
• Supervise and direct nursing and ancillary personnel across multiple levels of care
• Lead development and revision of individualized care plans and participate in patient/family conferences
• Monitor and optimize patient care delivery, ensuring patient safety, quality of care, and patient satisfaction
• Conduct rounds to assess patient needs, solicit feedback on nursing services, and address concerns timely
• Collaborate with the health care team to improve patient experience and outcomes, including system-level quality initiatives
