About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in the Critical Care Unit (CCU) in Trenton, New Jersey. The contract is for 8 weeks, starting on 09/22/2026, with guaranteed 36 hours per week. The nurse will work three 12-hour night shifts per week (7:00 PM–7:30 AM). The role involves working in a critical care setting and floating within the CCU float pool between the RMC and Hopewell Campuses, with potential to float to MST if needed. The assignment requires active licensure in New Jersey or a NJ compact license, proficiency with Cerner EMR, and a mandatory flu vaccination. This position is ideal for experienced CCU nurses who are comfortable with cross-campus coverage and working in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Requirements

  • Current RN license for New Jersey or a NJ compact license required at submission
  • 2+ years of ICU and MST (step-down / intermediate care) experience
  • BLS and ACLS required
  • Flu vaccination required (no declination)
  • Proficiency with Cerner EMR or willingness to learn; ability to work in a fast-paced CCU setting
  • Willingness to float between campuses and to work night shift as scheduled
  • Ability to maintain safety and quality standards in a critical care environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care for CCU patients, including monitoring, medication administration, hemodynamic management, and ventilator support as applicable.
  • Perform ongoing assessments, interpret trends, and escalate deteriorations to the charge or attending physician promptly.
  • Float within the CCU float pool between designated campus locations and assist as needed with patient care on other units per unit guidelines.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, participate in rounds, and document accurately in Cerner EMR.
  • Adhere to unit protocols, infection control, and patient safety standards; maintain professional conduct and patient advocacy.
  • Ensure compliance with required credentials, including BLS, ACLS, and vaccination status, and comply with scrubs color policy (navy blue).
