About The Position

This is a travel Registered Nurse position for a Critical Care / Medical Step-Down unit in Cleveland, Ohio. The contract is for 13 weeks, starting on 08/31/2026. The role involves providing direct nursing care, administering medications, conducting assessments, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, maintaining documentation, and supporting discharge planning. The work setting is a hospital-based medical step-down unit.

Requirements

Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Ohio
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Minimum 1 year of critical care or step-down experience
Ability to work in a medical step-down setting and to perform 12-hour shifts; rotating schedule as needed

Nice To Haves

BSN or Magnet-recognized certification
2 years of CCU/step-down experience

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care for patients in a medical step-down unit, including monitoring and responding to clinical changes
Administer medications and IV therapies, titrate infusions as ordered, and document responses
Conduct ongoing patient assessments, manage airway, hemodynamics, and other critical needs within scope of practice
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and update care plans; communicate changes to physicians and family members as appropriate
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the medical record; ensure patient safety and adherence to infection control protocols
Support discharge planning and patient education as part of ongoing care and transition of care
