About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse specializing in Adolescent Behavioral Health Inpatient care in Saint Helena, California. The assignment is for 13 weeks, starting on 09/28/2026, with guaranteed 40 hours per week on a day shift (5x8s, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM). The role is within a short-term acute care setting that includes two inpatient behavioral health units. The weekly pay ranges from $2,745 to $2,956.

Requirements

Active RN license in California
BLS certification
Epic experience
At least two years of recent RN experience in the field
Ability to work in an inpatient behavioral health setting; comfortable on two adult inpatient behavioral health units (one medical behavioral unit and one standard adult psychiatry unit)

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care to adolescents on two inpatient behavioral health units, including assessment, monitoring, and documentation.
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop, implement, and revise individualized care plans; coordinate admission through discharge to optimize patient outcomes.
Apply case management skills to coordinate continuum of care, assess resource needs, discuss treatment plans with physicians, and facilitate transfers when appropriate.
Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record (Epic) and ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
Maintain a safe, therapeutic milieu; perform crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed; monitor for safety risks and respond to behavioral health events.
Support patient and family education and discharge planning, including linkage to post-discharge services.
