About The Position

Amex GBT is hiring a Travel Consultant II to join its U.S. Military and Government team, providing travel management services to federal clients. The role provides customer service to Defense and Government travelers before, during, and after business trips, arranging and managing travel through a combination of personal service and technology. The position mainly supports customers by phone and through walk-ins, and uses the Sabre Global Distribution System (GDS).

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience working as a Travel Consultant.
• Experience using the Sabre GDS across local and global markets.
• U.S. citizenship, required due to the Federal Government contract.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong teamwork skills.
• A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn and grow.
• Passion for providing high-quality customer service.

Responsibilities

• Arrange and book domestic and international business travel for individual and group customers, including air, road, rail, and accommodations.
• Build reservations according to client standards and traveler preferences.
• Offer informed recommendations to help deliver a positive traveler experience.
• Handle simple and complex bookings, including non-standard and multi-destination itineraries, ticket exchanges, and complex fares.
• Make travel changes and resolve routine and non-routine issues that arise before or during travel assignments.
• Research and analyze travel options, anticipate traveler needs, and offer additional services.
• Use positive telephone service techniques and respond to special customer requests.
• Support customers primarily by phone and through walk-ins.
