About The Position

Amex GBT is hiring a Travel Consultant II to join its U.S. Military and Government team, providing travel management services to federal clients. The role delivers customer service to Defense and Government travelers before, during, and after business trips. It primarily supports travelers by phone and in person (walk-ins).

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience working as a Travel Consultant.
Experience using Sabre GDS across local and global markets.
U.S. citizenship, required due to the Federal Government contract.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong teamwork skills.
A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn and grow.
Genuine commitment to high-quality customer service.

Responsibilities

Arrange and book domestic and international business travel by air, road, rail, and accommodations for individual and group customers, handling a range of booking complexity.
Ensure reservations follow client standards and preferences.
Advise travelers with informed recommendations to support a positive travel experience.
Handle simple and complex bookings, including non-standard and multi-destination itineraries, ticket exchanges, and complex fares.
Make travel changes and resolve issues before or during assignments, including routine and non-routine work.
Research and analyze travel options, anticipate traveler needs, and offer additional services.
Use positive telephone service techniques and respond to special customer requests.
Use the Sabre Global Distribution System (GDS).
Support customers primarily by phone and walk-ins.
