About The Position

Amex GBT is hiring a Travel Consultant II to join its U.S. Military and Government team, which provides travel management services to federal clients. The role delivers customer service to Defense and Government travelers before, during, and after business trips, primarily through phone support and walk-ins. The consultant arranges and manages domestic and international travel bookings, provides recommendations, and helps resolve issues throughout the travel process.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience working as a Travel Consultant.
• Experience using Sabre GDS across local and global markets.
• U.S. citizenship, required due to the Federal Government contract.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong teamwork skills.
• A positive, can-do attitude.
• Willingness to learn and grow.
• Passion for providing high-quality customer service.

Responsibilities

• Arrange and book domestic and international business travel for individuals and groups, including air, road, rail, and accommodations.
• Ensure reservations are built according to client standards and preferences.
• Provide informed recommendations to help travelers have a positive travel experience.
• Handle bookings ranging from simple itineraries to complex, non-standard, and multi-destination trips, ticket exchanges, and complex fares.
• Make travel changes and resolve routine and non-routine issues before or during travel assignments.
• Research and analyze travel options, anticipate traveler needs, and offer additional services.
• Use positive telephone service techniques and respond to special customer requests.
• Use the Sabre Global Distribution System (GDS).
• Support customers primarily by phone and through walk-ins.
