About The Position

Amex GBT is hiring a Travel Consultant II for its U.S. Military and Government team, which provides travel management services to federal clients. The role delivers customer service to Defense and Government travelers before, during, and after business trips. The consultant arranges and books domestic and international travel, advises travelers on suitable options, and resolves travel-related changes and issues. The position supports travelers primarily by phone and through walk-ins and uses Sabre Global Distribution System (GDS).

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience working as a Travel Consultant.
• Experience using Sabre GDS across local and global markets.
• U.S. citizenship, required due to the Federal Government contract.
• Genuine passion for high-quality customer service.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong teamwork skills.
• Positive, can-do attitude.
• Willingness to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

• Arrange and book domestic and international business travel by air, road, rail, and accommodations for individual and group customers, across a range of complexity.
• Build reservations according to client standards and preferences.
• Offer informed recommendations as a trusted advisor to improve the traveler experience.
• Handle simple and complex bookings, including non-standard and multi-destination itineraries, ticket exchanges, and complex fares.
• Make travel changes and resolve routine and non-routine issues that arise before or during travel assignments.
• Research and analyze travel options, anticipate traveler needs, and offer additional services.
• Use positive telephone service techniques and respond to special customer requests.
• Support customers primarily by phone and through walk-ins.
• Use the Sabre Global Distribution System (GDS).
