About The Position

AAA Travel Consultants sell domestic and international travel packages, including cruises, land packages, itineraries, air, car, and hotel. They use travel knowledge from personal experience and/or educational study trips to build long-standing relationships with members, generate referral and repeat business, and recommend travel options tailored to each member’s expectations. Consultants also cross-sell relevant products, including the AAA Member Rewards Credit Card, and identify theft referrals.

This role may provide a path to future leadership opportunities. Consultants are evaluated on sales, customer service, administrative and operational skills, up-selling, cross-selling, and meeting goals. Successful evaluations may support continued growth into management. AAA provides training through The Auto Club University and a Travel Consultant Trainee program, which requires some travel for training.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Pass a comprehensive criminal background check and urine sample drug screening.
• Be available to work most Saturdays and some evenings.
• Complete the Travel Consultant Trainee program, which requires some travel for training.
• Demonstrate a strong sales drive and ability to exceed goals.
• Navigate multiple computer systems and web browsers and use Microsoft Office.
• Type at least 30 words per minute.
• Have strong organizational skills and comfort handling paperwork.
• Demonstrate attention to detail, ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, good written and oral communication skills, and interest in continuous learning.
• Have a passion for travel.

Nice To Haves

• At least two years of successful retail sales or banking experience, or experience in a leisure travel agency, in a goal-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Meet established production goals and demonstrate sales, customer service, administrative, operational, up-selling, and cross-selling proficiencies.
• Participate in the Travel Consultant Trainee program, including travel for training.
