The Travel Advisor sells international and domestic travel products, including cruises, land packages, itineraries, air, car, and hotel arrangements. The role draws on travel knowledge gained through personal experience or educational study trips to make recommendations tailored to members’ expectations and to provide trip experiences that exceed them. The advisor builds long-standing member relationships and referral and repeat business, while identifying relevant cross-selling opportunities such as AAA Member Rewards Credit Card and identity theft referrals. This is a sales- and service-focused position in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is organized, detail-oriented, able to multitask, comfortable navigating computers and various programs, and has strong written and oral communication skills. The role requires ongoing learning and availability to work most Saturdays and some evenings. Travel for training is required as part of the Travel Consultant Trainee program. For candidates who progress, the position can offer a path toward leadership. Performance is evaluated in areas including sales, customer service, administration, operations, up-selling, cross-selling, and goal achievement; successful evaluations may lead to opportunities to grow into management. Training and career development are supported through The Auto Club University and paid educational study trips.
