About The Position

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with medical providers, including pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN advocates for patients and supports a positive patient experience. The role involves caring for cardiac and medical-surgical patients at TriStar Skyline Medical Center, an ACS-verified Level II Trauma Center.

Requirements

Current Registered Nurse license in Tennessee or an appropriate compact state.
Appropriate communication skills.

ASN or BSN education is preferred.

Responsibilities

Apply knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, treatment, and care appropriate to the ages of patients served.
Promote customer service initiatives and support Skyline Medical Center service values and HCAHPS behaviors.
Document all patient care accurately and in a timely and thorough manner.
Use the nursing process to provide individualized care that meets patients’ needs.
Demonstrate technical skills and perform procedures.
Promote compliance with National Patient Safety Goals.
Assess patient condition at admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting changes in status.
Perform procedures and other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient responses.
Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in caring for cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
