About The Position
This is an inpatient coverage role primarily serving as a trauma hospitalist rounder. Responsibilities include ED admissions, daily rounding and management of all conditions, and some intermittent ED consults, trauma activations, and procedures. The average daily patient load is 10-14 patients. This position is at a Level I trauma center.
Requirements
- Active Minnesota licensure
- Board certification
- AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS and ATLS certifications
- Minimum 1-year Trauma Surgery/Critical Care experience or equivalent
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics) OR Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program
- Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Minnesota OR Active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license in Minnesota
- National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP]) OR National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- At least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty

Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests
- Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
- Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices.
- Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
