About The Position

This is an ongoing coverage need for a Trauma Surgery NP/PA at a Level II trauma center. The role involves both inpatient and OR coverage, with day and night shifts available. The position requires an average of 8-10 shifts per month and does not include call coverage. The patient population is all ages. The facility uses EPIC as its EMR system. Credentialing typically takes 60-90 days, with temporary privileges available.

Requirements

  • Active Pennsylvania licensure
  • Board certification
  • AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS and ATLS certifications
  • Minimum 2-years Trauma Surgery experience or equivalent
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics) or Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program
  • Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Pennsylvania
  • National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP])
  • Active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license in Pennsylvania
  • National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)

  • At least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests
  • Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
  • Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
  • Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
