About The Position

This is an ongoing coverage need for a Trauma Surgery NP/PA at a Level II trauma center. The role involves both inpatient and OR coverage, with day and night shifts available. The position requires an average of 8-10 shifts per month and does not include call coverage. The patient population is all ages. The facility uses EPIC as its EMR system. Credentialing typically takes 60-90 days, with temporary privileges available.

Requirements

Active Pennsylvania licensure
Board certification
AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS and ATLS certifications
Minimum 2-years Trauma Surgery experience or equivalent
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics) or Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program
Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Pennsylvania
National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP])
Active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license in Pennsylvania
National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
Order and interpret diagnostic tests
Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices.
Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
