About The Position

This is a locum tenens position for a Cardiothoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant located in Lexington, KY. The role is in an inpatient service setting and provides call-only coverage to supplement existing staff. The coverage period begins May 31, 2026, and is ongoing, with specific shifts available in May, June, and July. The call schedule is Friday through Monday, from 7 AM to 7 AM, typically requiring 1-2 days per week and one weekend per month. Responsibilities include performing surgical CT, vein harvest, chest tube placement, and first assisting in various cardiac and thoracic surgeries such as CABG, AVR, MVR, and thoracotomy/lung resection cases. The position also involves duties in the Operating Room (OR), Telemetry (Tele), and Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The facility utilizes Epic EMR.

Requirements

• Active KY License
• BC
• DEA
• BLS
• ACLS
• NPDB report
