About The Position

WSI Trash & Recycling Valet is hiring part-time Valet Porters in the South Ogden area. Porters work short evening shifts, typically one to two hours, Monday through Friday, with start times around 6:30 or 7:00 PM. The role is described as suitable for people seeking supplemental income or a schedule-compatible second job. No experience is required; training is provided.

Each evening, the Porter walks an assigned apartment community, collects bagged trash, recycling, and cardboard from residents' doors, and transports it to an onsite dumpster, chute, or compactor. The Porter separates recycling, checks for contamination, and cleans loose trash from common areas. Route check-in and check-out are completed through a mobile app, including route documentation, photo uploads, and courtesy notices when needed. The Porter may occasionally help service pet waste stations.

Pay is $20 per hour at standard sites and $25 per hour at sites requiring the use of the Porter's personal open-bed pickup truck. The work requires extensive walking, sometimes using stairs, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, and working outdoors in varying weather. Applicants must be at least 18, have a valid Utah driver's license and auto insurance, and use a smartphone with an active data plan and location services. English speaking, reading, and writing ability is required. WSI is a family-owned, majority women-operated company founded in Utah in 2010, serving apartment communities across Utah, Nevada, and Idaho.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Have a valid Utah driver's license and auto insurance.
• Have a smartphone with an active data plan and location services.
• Be able to speak, read, and write in English.
• Be reliable, professional, and self-motivated.
• Be able to walk extensively, ascend and descend stairs at some properties, and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Have a personal open-bed pickup truck for select sites.

Responsibilities

• Walk an assigned apartment community and collect bagged trash, recycling, and cardboard from residents' doors.
• Transport collected materials to the onsite dumpster, chute, or compactor.
• Separate recycling and check it for contamination.
• Clean up loose trash around common areas.
• Use a mobile app to check in and out, document the route, and upload photos.
• Leave courtesy notices when needed.
• Occasionally assist with servicing pet waste stations.
