About The Position
A & Associates is hiring a Trash/Sanitation Helper to support residential and commercial refuse collection on designated routes in Richardson, Texas. Under the direct supervision of the truck driver in charge of the crew, the helper collects garbage, refuse, recyclables, yard trash, and other waste, assists with route completion, and performs related duties as assigned. The work involves heavy manual labor, close daily contact with unpleasant materials, and outdoor work in all weather conditions. The helper loads and unloads waste, assists with solid waste collection and municipal waste management, helps guide safe vehicle movement, supports front-loader, rear-loader, and roll-off truck operations as assigned, and picks up brush and performs general cleanup. Employees must follow safety procedures and applicable traffic, DOT, state transportation, and hazardous materials regulations. The role also involves respectful communication and helpful customer service with customers and crew members. This is a temporary assignment that guarantees 40 hours per week. The listed pay is $17.00–$19.00 per hour. Shifts may be scheduled seven days a week, starting between 6:00 and 6:30 a.m. CDT. The posting notes that, with supervisor approval, a full day may sometimes be paid even when a route ends early.
Requirements
- Completion of eighth grade.
- Ability to lift and handle 50 pounds.
- Ability and willingness to work with unpleasant waste materials.
- Ability to use simple hand tools.
- Sufficient physical strength and ability to lift, move, and carry very heavy objects.
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to follow safety protocols, traffic laws, DOT and state transportation regulations, and hazardous materials requirements.
- Reliable driving awareness and route-driving readiness.

- Commercial driving experience.
- Familiarity with garbage trucks, front-end loaders, front-loader or rear-loader trucks, and roll-off trucks.
- Experience with load-and-unload tasks.
Responsibilities
