About The Position

BGIS is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support building and facility operations in Richardson, Texas. The role maintains facility equipment and building systems, carries out routine and preventive maintenance, responds to service requests and emergencies, and helps ensure that vendor and contractor work meets BGIS standards. The technician receives direction from a Lead Facility Engineer or Facility Manager and maintains professional relationships with internal and external clients.

Requirements

One year of experience with building or facility operations, or equivalent training.
High school diploma or GED, or equivalent work experience.
Ability to work at heights and from ladders.
Ability to regularly walk; use hands and fingers; handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
Ability to respond to off-hour emergency calls.

Nice To Haves

Experience or knowledge in maintaining building infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions.
Assist with ancillary building systems to keep systems operating at peak performance with minimal downtime.
Receive direction from the Lead Facility Engineer or Facility Manager.
Maintain facility equipment according to the preventive maintenance plan.
Perform general building maintenance and routine maintenance tasks.
Troubleshoot issues, evaluate conditions, and recommend upgrades.
Order parts and supplies for maintenance and repairs.
Forward high-level technical maintenance needs to the appropriate resource.
Respond to customer service requests and monitor them in the work order management system.
Maintain positive, professional working relationships with internal and external clients and provide exceptional customer service.
Respond to off-hour emergency calls.
Work with vendors and contractors to oversee work and ensure it meets BGIS standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
