About The Position

BGIS is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join its team in Richardson, Texas. BGIS provides integrated real estate management services, including facilities and project management, energy and sustainability services, workplace consulting, real estate services, and capital planning. The Maintenance Technician supports building operations by maintaining facility equipment and systems, addressing service requests, and helping ensure buildings operate safely and reliably. The position receives direction from a Lead Facility Engineer or Facility Manager and may respond to off-hour emergency calls.

Requirements

One year of experience with building or facility operations, or equivalent training.
High school diploma or GED, or equivalent work experience.
Ability to work at heights and from ladders.
Ability to regularly walk; use hands and fingers; handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
Ability to respond to off-hour emergency calls.

Experience or knowledge maintaining building infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions.
Assist with ancillary building systems to keep systems operating at peak performance with minimal downtime.
Maintain facility equipment according to the preventative maintenance plan.
Provide general building maintenance and perform routine maintenance tasks.
Troubleshoot issues and evaluate and recommend upgrades.
Order parts and supplies for maintenance and repairs.
Forward high-level technical maintenance issues to the appropriate resource.
Respond to customer service requests and monitor requests in the work order management system.
Maintain positive and professional working relationships with internal and external clients while demonstrating customer service skills.
Respond to off-hour emergency calls.
Work with vendors and contractors to oversee their work and ensure it meets BGIS standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
