About The Position

At NewYork-Presbyterian Queens, Transporters help create a safe, welcoming, and compassionate environment for patients and their families. They support the patient experience by providing courteous, attentive service and helping ensure comfort, dignity, and safety throughout each transport. This is a part-time position based in Flushing, New York, scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Holidays are required. Registration with the 1199 Job Security Fund is required.

Requirements

• Must be able to read and write English.
• Ability to follow simple directions.
• Basic clerical skills for logging patient names and destinations.
• Planning skills to efficiently route patient transports.
• Registration with the 1199 Job Security Fund is required.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong customer service background.
• Experience in hospitality or healthcare environments.
• A passion for putting patients first.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients throughout the hospital with courtesy and care.
• Respond promptly and politely to patient needs and questions.
• Build meaningful connections with patients and families.
• Provide exceptional customer service and ensure patient safety.
• Transport medical records, lab specimens, equipment, and other items.
• Change oxygen tanks and apply oxygen regulators as needed.
