About The Position

Under the direction of the supervisor, the Transporter is responsible for transporting patients throughout the hospital, delivering objects to patient care areas, and ensuring transport equipment is properly maintained. Transport staff also assist Public Safety with patient restraints and standbys. The required schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 0800–2030.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Familiarity with equipment used in lifting and transporting patients.
• Familiarity with hospital and departmental personnel policies.
• Knowledge of the hospital layout and facilities.
• Training in dealing with mental patients.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Hospital or related experience is preferred but not required; on-the-job training is provided.
