Transportation Technician II
About The Position
Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT), a 100% employee-owned multidisciplinary consulting firm, is seeking a Transportation Technician II for its Construction Management Team. The position applies standard inspection procedures to ongoing construction activities during and after construction to evaluate quality, safety, and conformance with plans and specifications. The initial area identified is Wilkesboro, North Carolina, with statewide opportunities and multiple locations available within North Carolina; the location may be discussed with the hiring manager during an interview. Immigration sponsorship or support is unavailable, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.
Requirements
- Successfully complete and pass JMT’s Motor Vehicle screening.
Responsibilities
- Inspect contractors’ operations on transportation projects, including roadway and bridge construction, to verify conformance with plans and specifications.
- Perform routine material testing.
- Measure and track quantities of pay items.
- Gather and maintain record documents, including material certifications, testing reports, and inspectors’ daily diaries.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
