Transportation Technician II
About The Position
Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT), a 100% employee-owned consulting firm, is seeking a Transportation Technician II for its Construction Management Team. The position applies standard inspection procedures to ongoing transportation construction activities in the Wilkesboro, North Carolina area and other locations statewide. Inspections take place during and after construction to assess quality, safety, and conformance with plans and specifications. Locations within North Carolina can be discussed with the hiring manager during an interview. Immigration sponsorship or support is unavailable except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.
Responsibilities
- Inspect contractor operations on roadway, bridge, and other transportation projects to verify conformance with plans and specifications.
- Perform routine material testing.
- Measure and track quantities of pay items.
- Gather and maintain record documents, including material certifications, testing reports, and inspectors’ daily diaries.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
