Transportation Technician II
About The Position
Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT), a 100% employee-owned multidisciplinary consulting firm, is seeking a Transportation Technician II for its Construction Management Team. The position applies standard inspection procedures to ongoing transportation construction activities during and after construction to assess quality, safety, and conformance to plans and specifications. Projects include roadway and bridge construction. The role is based in the Wilkesboro, North Carolina area, with statewide opportunities and multiple possible locations within North Carolina that may be discussed with the hiring manager during an interview. Immigration sponsorship or support is unavailable, except for qualified candidates eligible for TN visa classification.
Requirements
- Must successfully complete and pass JMT’s Motor Vehicle screening.
Responsibilities
- Inspect contractor operations on transportation projects, including roadway and bridge construction, to verify conformance to plans and specifications.
- Perform routine material testing.
- Measure and track quantities of pay items.
- Gather and maintain record documents, including material certifications, testing reports, and inspectors’ daily diaries.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
