About The Position

Kapco Metal Stamping is hiring a Transportation & Fleet Manager for Steel Blue Logistics in Grafton, Wisconsin. The role oversees daily fleet operations and transportation activities, including vehicle lifecycle management, driver scheduling, dispatching, shipment tracking, route optimization, freight spending analysis, and carrier negotiations. The manager is responsible for timely vehicle maintenance and compliance with OSHA and DOT regulations, while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

• Strong knowledge of the transportation industry and fleet management practices.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily fleet operations for Steel Blue Logistics.
• Oversee the acquisition, leasing, and disposal of vehicles.
• Monitor fuel usage, mileage, and overall fleet performance.
• Ensure timely vehicle maintenance and compliance with OSHA and DOT regulations.
• Develop and manage driver schedules and assignments.
• Direct daily transportation activities, including scheduling, dispatching, and shipment tracking.
• Plan and optimize transportation routes for efficiency and cost savings.
• Analyze freight spending, identify inefficiencies, and implement cost-reduction strategies.
• Negotiate contracts and rates with carriers, third-party logistics providers, and freight forwarders.
