About The Position

Campbell Street is seeking a reliable, responsible Transportation Driver to provide safe and timely transportation for individuals or goods, depending on the specific role. The driver operates vehicles and ensures the comfort and safety of passengers or goods while following traffic laws, safety regulations, company policies, designated routes, and schedules. The role calls for strong driving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to customer service. The position is based at Bridges of Ankeny in Ankeny, Iowa. Candidates must have a clean driving record and be eligible for insurance through the company based on an MVR check. A high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license are required. A CDL or other certifications may be necessary depending on the vehicle. Previous driver or transportation-related experience is preferred but not required. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Ability to be insured by the company via an MVR check.
Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and driving techniques.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to navigate using maps, GPS, or other navigation tools.
Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude.
Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.
Ability to lift, load, and unload items weighing up to 50 pounds as required.
Ability to bend, twist, and climb to assist with passenger or cargo handling.
Ability to perform vehicle inspections and minor maintenance, such as checking tire pressure and fluid levels.
Good vision and hearing, and the physical capability to respond quickly in emergency situations.
Ability to work in varying weather conditions, including heat, rain, and snow.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience as a driver or in a transportation-related role is preferred but not required.
A commercial driver’s license (CDL) or other required certifications may be necessary depending on the type of vehicle.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a vehicle to transport passengers or goods to various locations while following designated routes, schedules, and timeframes.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, checking for mechanical issues, fuel levels, and cleanliness.
Follow safety regulations and traffic laws during transportation.
Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, and load or unload luggage, packages, or mobility aids when necessary.
Provide customer service by answering questions, addressing concerns, and helping maintain a comfortable and safe environment during the journey.
Keep accurate trip records, including start and end times, mileage, and fuel usage.
Immediately report vehicle malfunctions or accidents and complete necessary paperwork.
Maintain vehicle cleanliness and upkeep, ensuring it is presentable and in good working condition.
Communicate with dispatchers or supervisors about delays, accidents, or other issues during transportation.
Follow company policies regarding breaks, rest periods, and work schedules to comply with industry regulations.
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when interacting with passengers or clients.
