About The Position

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT), a 100% employee-owned multidisciplinary consulting firm, is seeking Transportation Construction Inspection professionals for its Central PA Team. The primary clients include the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, and other local government agencies throughout the Central PA region. The successful candidate will serve as a principal inspector responsible for supervising construction inspection engineering work on projects.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and supervise project inspection activities to ensure contractor compliance with plans, contract documents, specifications, and standards.
Assign, schedule, and maintain subordinate inspection staff throughout all phases of the project.
Review and maintain project documentation detailing construction progress, activities, and materials; ensure environmental permitting conditions and safety policies and programs are met; and monitor EEO and DBE progress and performance.
Prepare, review, and submit project inspection reports, work authorizations, work orders, and estimates.
Notify contractors of noncompliance and required corrective action.
Review, analyze, and evaluate contractor schedules.
Track project progress and advise parties of possible overruns and critical project issues.
Complete analysis of field tests.
Attend pre-bid, pre-construction, and/or management-level meetings; assist the client with change orders and claim defense; and provide updates on construction progress and issues.
Interact with the general public, government agencies, contractors, subcontractors, and other internal and external parties to respond to inquiries.
Work on behalf of the client to draft project correspondence, facilitate project meetings, and resolve construction-related field issues.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
