About The Position

The Transportation and Reception Associate is responsible for assisting in the transportation needs of the agency and assisting in reception of new program participants. This position is also tasked with ensuring the safety of all program participants and agency property, while ensuring compliance with program rules and WestCare policies.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience working in social and behavioral sciences, or a similar field
  • Must be at least 21 years old or older
  • Ability to work well, both individually and as part of a team
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to exercise good judgement and discretion
  • Adherence to the highest standards of ethical conduct
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • Valid Driver's License and the ability to obtain and maintain WestCare’s vehicle insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises program participants under the direction of the Program Coordinator and/or Program Director, reporting unusual changes as they occur
  • Assists in the transportation needs of the agency
  • Assists in the reception of new program participants
  • Facilitates mentoring, discipline, safety, and shift/overnight observation of participants
  • Utilizes approved crisis intervention techniques to assist with de-escalation of situations, ensuring resident, staff, and visitor safety
  • Assists with the receiving of new program participants
  • Participates in 24/7 coverage by working a flexible schedule, properly tracking hours worked, and consistently arriving to scheduled shifts on time
  • Monitors participant whereabouts and activity to be sure they maintain acceptable behavior and remain on the property, or have appropriate paperwork needed to leave the property
  • Assists in the implementation of recreational activities for program participants, participating where appropriate
  • Ensures the facility is kept clean and in working order
  • Assists other WestCare staff as needed to promote cooperation and portray a professional image to the community
  • Must Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision, and goals of WestCare Foundation; and Perform all other duties as assigned.
