About The Position

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking a Transportation and Logistics Specialist for its Supply Chain department. The role supports logistics operations through accounting and invoice processing, transportation scheduling, forecasting, service tracking, and data analysis. The specialist helps execute Barrick’s sourcing strategy and contributes to service quality, cost savings, and performance improvements while adhering to safety requirements and the company’s social responsibility commitments. The position also involves maintaining organized records, communicating with internal stakeholders and suppliers, and performing other duties assigned by the Logistics Manager. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Two or more years of related experience and/or training in a warehouse and/or logistics environment is preferred.
Ability to engage, motivate, and develop business partners to meet objectives is preferred.
Strong communication skills are preferred.
Ability to influence and work effectively with a diverse range of people is preferred.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are preferred.
Excellent time management and prioritization skills are preferred.
Ability to make timely, effective decisions while maintaining high quality and safety standards is preferred.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Communicate regularly with team members about operations, activities, developments, and changes.
Provide accounting support to the Logistics Department, including setting up purchase orders and processing invoices for payment.
Compile and audit monthly Service Entry Sheets.
Track key performance indicators and service levels.
Maintain and update bus schedules.
Communicate transportation delays to internal stakeholders.
Book transportation charters for events and tours.
Ensure Service Entry Sheets are accurately entered into SAP.
Ensure invoices are accurately entered into SAP Ariba.
Audit the scale database and validate invoices.
Request commodity forecasts from internal stakeholders, communicate forecasts to suppliers and carriers, and compile forecast-accuracy reports.
Assist with logistics planning, including scheduling and invoicing.
Acquire services while seeking the best total cost of ownership, execution terms, and quality conditions.
Maintain detailed, organized records of deliveries and inventories.
Analyze data and suggest modifications and improvements.
Adhere to applicable safety standards, regulations, laws, and policies.
Support continuous improvement and execution of Barrick’s sourcing strategy, policies, and guidelines for service categories and contracts.
Participate in developing value-added services for Supply Chain Management customers and contribute to cost savings and other performance metrics.
Demonstrate socially responsible behavior and comply with Barrick’s Social Responsibility Policy in interactions with the community and company.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Logistics Manager.
