Logistics Transportation Specialist
About The Position
H Mart is seeking a strategic, hands-on Logistics Transportation Specialist to lead multi-region logistics operations, regulatory compliance, and carrier strategy. The role oversees fleet maintenance and DOT adherence, optimizes regional delivery networks, and promotes cost efficiency through carrier management and financial oversight. It also leads continuous process improvements, manages transportation P&L, and mentors operational staff to support seamless execution across logistics functions. The position leads fleet compliance and management, delivery strategy, carrier and brokerage relationships, financial oversight, and process improvement. It manages transportation equipment and systems, develops operational standards and SOPs, and provides guidance to Specialist I and II staff. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management.

Responsibilities
- Lead DOT compliance programs and ensure fleet-wide regulatory adherence.
- Oversee multi-region fleet management, including inspections, registrations, and maintenance schedules.
- Develop and enforce driver safety training programs and compliance protocols.
- Manage ELD systems, pallet jacks, and procurement of fleet-related equipment.
- Lead and optimize delivery operations across regional and local service areas.
- Define standards and KPIs for regional delivery performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Partner with regional teams and third-party carriers to resolve complex delivery challenges.
- Lead carrier network strategy, including RFP development, contract negotiation, and performance evaluation.
- Identify and onboard carriers to improve cost efficiency and service quality.
- Monitor and analyze market trends and provide strategic carrier recommendations to leadership.
- Oversee billing operations for dedicated services and OTR freight AP/AR.
- Lead P&L analysis and present financial performance insights to leadership.
- Manage transportation tax compliance, including IFTA and state-specific filings.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance transportation efficiency and cost control.
- Guide and mentor Specialist I and II staff.
- Develop and maintain SOPs for transportation operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
