About The Position
The Transport Aide works in Transport Services and transports patients throughout various areas of the hospital from admission through discharge. The aide remains alert to patients’ conditions during transport, follows departmental safety policy, and maintains working knowledge of medical support equipment and infection-control procedures. This is a per-diem evening position.
Requirements
- Ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions.
- Ability to stand and walk for approximately 75% of work time.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, and lifting.
Responsibilities
- Transport patients throughout various areas of the hospital from admission through discharge.
- Remain alert to the patient’s condition during transport.
- Adhere to departmental safety policy.
- Maintain working knowledge of medical support equipment and infection-control procedures.
