About The Position

Aldridge is seeking a Transformation Project Manager for its Business Transformation Office in Lake Forest, Illinois. This is a formal project delivery role focused on internal business process redesign, systems implementation, and digital transformation—not construction project management or administrative coordination. The role owns assigned initiatives from charter through rollout and outcome tracking, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and against intended business results. The Project Manager leads cross-functional teams without direct authority and follows the BTO’s standard delivery methodology and tools. Initiatives may range from departmental or cross-departmental process redesign to enterprise system implementations. The role works with process owners, business and IT teams, vendors, Initiative Owners, stakeholders, and the Steering Committee. It also contributes to BTO delivery standards and maintains complete initiative records. Travel to divisions, regions, and job sites may be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; equivalent experience is considered.
  • 6–8 years of relevant experience, including at least 4 years leading projects end to end in business process improvement, systems implementation, or digital transformation.
  • Experience owning the plan, schedule, RAID log, and stakeholder reporting for a cross-functional initiative from initiation through go-live or rollout.
  • Experience leading at least one significant process redesign or system implementation through rollout, working across business teams and, where applicable, IT teams.
  • Working knowledge of process improvement methods such as process mapping, root-cause analysis, and Lean or similar, and of the system implementation lifecycle, including requirements, testing, and cutover; depth in at least one area.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority, hold stakeholders to commitments, surface decisions, and escalate risks with recommendations.
  • Comfort creating structure where processes and governance are still maturing.
  • Strong written communication skills, including status reports, decision summaries, and executive updates.
  • Proficiency with a work management platform such as ClickUp or comparable tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Workspace.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills, with a record of consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Adaptability and willingness to embrace new challenges.
  • Ability to travel to divisions, regions, and job sites as required.

Nice To Haves

  • PMP certification.
  • Experience in construction, specialty contracting, or another project-based industry.
  • Exposure to construction ERP or project management platforms such as CMiC, Procore, or comparable systems.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement certification.
  • Experience with change management practices such as Prosci or with agile delivery methods.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate and promote Aldridge’s Core Values in work activities.
  • Own assigned initiatives end to end, defining scope, objectives, deliverables, and success measures using the BTO’s delivery methodology and tools.
  • Build, maintain, and own project plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, and resource needs, and hold the plan baseline.
  • Facilitate current-state and future-state process mapping; identify root causes and improvement opportunities; define roles and handoffs; and pilot process changes before rollout.
  • Work with process owners to translate redesigned processes into SOPs, controls, and performance measures.
  • Monitor project health, maintain the RAID log, and enact changes when required.
  • Escalate risks and issues early, with options and a recommendation, when they exceed project authority.
  • Document roles and responsibilities for project team members, subject matter experts, and vendors, and hold team members to commitments.
  • Track and report initiative budgets, including budget versus actuals and vendor spend.
  • Manage vendors and implementation partners against statements of work, including scope, deliverables, timelines, and change control.
  • For technology-enabled initiatives, coordinate business and IT work across requirements, configuration, testing, data, and cutover to keep technical delivery aligned with business needs.
  • Run project governance, including status reporting, the Decision Log, and inputs to Initiative Owners and the Steering Committee; surface decisions and drive them to closure.
  • Plan implementation readiness with the Change Management Lead and business leaders, incorporating change, communications, and training into the project plan and assembling the go/no-go readiness picture.
  • Track outcomes after go-live against success measures, close out initiatives, and capture lessons learned.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Initiative Owners and stakeholders on assigned initiatives.
  • Contribute to BTO delivery standards, templates, and practices.
  • Maintain accurate, current, and complete records for assigned initiatives.
