About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Northridge, California. The role pays $22.75 per hour, with weekly pay of approximately $910, and offers local routes with daily home time. The schedule is Monday through Friday, starting at 6:00 a.m. Drivers shuttle equipment between Ryder customer facilities, moving empty trailers; the freight is no-touch. Drivers must be able to operate a manual-transmission vehicle. Ryder provides 24/7 roadside maintenance through Ryder-trained technicians, and service employees fuel trucks at its maintenance facilities. The position requires safe commercial vehicle operation, compliance with safety and DOT regulations, continuous training, and customer service. Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
• Be able to operate a manual transmission.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a commercial vehicle while complying with safety and DOT regulations.
• Comply with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
