About The Position

Ryder is hiring a part-time Class A CDL Transfer Driver in Romeoville, Illinois. The driver shuttles equipment between Ryder customer facilities, moving empty trailers for equipment transfer. This is a local route with daily home time and no-touch freight. The schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., for 24 hours per week. Pay is $22.50 per hour, with weekly pay of $540 based on 24 hours. Drivers receive 24/7 roadside maintenance support from Ryder-trained technicians, and service employees fuel trucks at Ryder maintenance facilities. Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test.
Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical.
Pass a Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
Some assignments may require additional screening, such as employment and education verification, motor vehicle records checks, road tests, or customer badging or background requirements.

Responsibilities
