About The Position

The 27th Judicial District is seeking a Transcriptionist to produce accurate transcripts of judicial proceedings from both tape and digital recordings. This role involves certifying the correctness of transcripts, processing requests, maintaining records, and performing administrative duties under the supervision of the Court Administrator.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent.
  • At least one year of court-related experience.
  • Experience with computer programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PDF software.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with other employees.

Nice To Haves

  • One to two years’ experience as a typist, including knowledge of the format and requirements of transcript preparation.

Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate transcripts of judicial proceedings from both tape and digital recordings as requested.
  • Certify correctness of transcripts prepared.
  • Process transcript requests and engage in written correspondence with requestors.
  • Maintain records and filing systems to facilitate storage and retrieval of transcripts prepared.
  • Perform some administrative duties as assigned under the supervision of the Court Administrator.
